IT Support Technician Job Role

About ResX

ResX is a small but growing MSP operating across a number of business sectors, we are looking for a strong IT Support Technician to join our team. We have a close-knit team offering you a great opportunity to get hands on with a wide range of technology, be an escalation point and be involved with project work. You will be working with our clients and technology partners to deliver and support technology solutions & services. The position is based at our offices in Warrington, but some occasional travel to client sites may be required as and when the business so a full UK driving license is needed.
 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical & application support via phone, email, and face-to-face for internal and external customers
  • Day to day management of infrastructure & application performance including – Azure cloud environments / VM environments / storage / firewalls / switches
  • Proactively monitor and update IT systems and respond to potential issues
  • Prepare and configure new equipment, including PCs, laptops, routers, servers, and network switches
  • Accurate recording of support requests in service desk system and ensure timely resolution within SLA
  • Maintenance of accurate internal and customer documentation in line with ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 processes
  • Communicate with third-party suppliers to ensure service delivery
  • Configure and administrate Microsoft on-premise & 365 products and escalate complex issues to the senior team
  • Manage and implement client projects, and plan effectively

 

Essential / Desirable skills + Requirements:

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure Cloud & Office 365 based issues and can solve independently
  • Good general IT knowledge
  • VMware + Hyper-V experience
  • Previous experience with VOIP
  • Installation and configuration of laptops and PCs
  • Good experience of supporting Microsoft servers & applications
  • Installation, configuration and support of firewalls, routers and switches
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Cloud backup solutions
  • 2 years of IT support (MSP experience is a bonus)

 

Typical Work Pattern: Mon - Fri 8am – 4:30pm - hybrid working and occasional travel required
